FAQs
Which nurtureOne™ cushion does my baby need?
All nurtureOne™ cushions have been designed with the same goal in mind - to ease baby's transition from the womb to the world. We do this by controlling the amount of stimuli they get in the early months of development (also know as the 4th trimester).
Each cushion offers the following benefits to baby;
- The cushion assists with the snug position for sleeping, which in turn encourages calm and relaxation.
- Allows for a smooth transition from breast / bottle to crib without changing position.
- Assists in sustaining good sleeping patterns
- Provides boundaries in the bed
- Reduces unnecessary stress
- Regulates body temperature
- Promotes containment and a sense of calmness
The cushions provide your baby with the ideal sensory needs for sleep while promoting development by allowing movement and self soothing to occur.
We always recommend using the nesting cushion together with the wedge to slightly elevate baby’s head and relieve symptoms of reflux.
Each cushion has been researched, designed and developed by medical practitioners. Endorsed by Occupational, Sensory and Developmental Therapists.

Why do I need a Wedge?
The nurtureOne nesting cushion was originally used in Neonatal Intensive Care Units (NICUs), where incubators are angled at about 30 degrees for medical benefits. For full-term, healthy babies who are not in incubators, the nurtureOne wedge was designed to be used with the nurtureOne nesting cushion to create this slight elevation. Using the wedge together with the nurtureOne cushion ensures your baby’s head is at the correct angle, preventing it from being lower than the rest of the body. A slight elevation can help with reflux and breathing. The wedge also provides support, keeping your baby securely positioned in the nest without sliding down.
Elevating your baby’s head slightly with a wedge can offer several benefits for their comfort and well-being:
- Eases Reflux Symptoms - A gentle incline helps reduce discomfort from reflux by keeping stomach contents down.
- Supports Breathing - Elevation can aid in clearer airways, making breathing easier for little ones.
Pairing the nurtureOne™ Nesting Cushion with the wedge creates the ideal sleep environment for your baby — calm, secure, and well-supported.
